About 300 species, distributed in the tropical and warm regions of the Old World, with 45 species found in southern Africa.

 

Plectranthus comosus (‘Abyssinian’ coleus, Woolly plectranthus, ‘Abessiniese’ coleus) is a declared Category 3 invasive plant in South Africa.
