Distribution and habitat

Distributed from Piketberg to the Cape Peninsula, to Caledon, Western Cape, South Africa. Occurs in fynbos on sandy flats and mountain slopes (de Vos, 1999a).

Phenology

Flowers from October to December (de Vos, 1999a).

Conservation status

Declining (Raimondo, 2008) due to habitat loss from wheat and vineyard cultivation, urban development and invasive alien plant infestations. However, still quite common.
