Genus: Pterocarpus

About 20 species, found in tropical regions, with four species native to southern Africa and a further two species that are cultivated in the region.

Pterocarpus brenanii

Recorded from Zimbabwe and Mozambique.

Pterocarpus lucens

Pterocarpus rotundifolius (Round-leaved teak, Dopperkiaat)

See Flora of Zimbabwe, where it is split into three subspecies - P. r. martinii, P. r. polyanthus and P. r. rotundifolius.

Afroclanis calcareus

Caterpillars have been recorded eating the leaves of Pterocarpus rotundifolius.
