Commonly cultivated in Harare, Zimbabwe, where it has become naturalised in the Mukuvisi Woodlands.

Sambucus mexicana

Native to the southern USA and Mexico.

 

Sambucus nigra (Elder, American elder)

Sambucus nigra nigra (Elder) is native to the Mediterranean, while Sambucus nigra canadensis (American elder) is native to the eastern USA and Canada.

 

Sambucus racemosa (Stinking elder)

Native to the eastern USA.
