Metalasia muricata (Blombos), Strandfontein in Strandveld (Western Cape, South Africa).

There are 53 species of which 47 are endemic to the Western Cape. Of the 5 remaining species, two have distributions in southern Africa that extend beyond the Western Cape and three occur in southern Africa but not in the Western Cape.
