Four species, all originating from the USA/Mexico are cultivated in southern Africa. This genus was previously placed in the family Agavaceae, which has been sunk under Asparagaceae.

Native to the USA, Mexico and the West Indies.

 

Yucca filamentosa (Spoonleaf yucca, Filament yucca)
