Actinidiaceae (Kiwi Fruit family)

There are four genera and a few hundred species. They grow as either trees, shrubs or woody vines and most of the species occur in the Asian and American tropics. There are no indigenous species in southern Africa. The only genus of economic significance is Actinidia which includes the familiar Kiwi Fruit Actinidia chinensis
