Paratype female of Phalces tuberculatus collected on the west coast of South Africa between Leipoldtville and Eland's Bay. The species was described by Brock (2000). The roughened appearance on the body. caused by small tubercles, is distinctive of the species. Note also the long spoon-like operculum on the end of the abdomen.
